What did Aegean Bronze Age men (and boys) wear?
Well..
– they went naked (sometimes while carrying fish),
– they wore zoma (loincloth)(plural: zomata) (sometimes with codpiece) (greek: ζῶμα Linear B spelling is zo-ma (𐀿𐀲).)
– they wore hide skirts (possibly called perizoma)(greek περίζωμα)
– they wore short kilts (possibly also perizoma)
– they wore shorts (though there is a possibility that the shorts are just how it looks when a man is active while wearing a kilt)
– They wore tunics (possibly chiton)(Linear B ki-to: (Derived as χιτών or chiton)) (a basic, often linen, tunic.)
It’s worth noting, that aside from the men dressed in long tunics and a single shorter tunic.. and the men wearing hide skirts/cloaks I have not seen any instances of a Minoan wearing a upper body garment. Add to that, aside from one image on the Hagia Triada Sarcophagus which MAYBE shows a man wearing a long tunic and a wrap skirt/kilt, I have not seen a tunic paired with kilt.
Mycenaeans ARE shown wearing short tunics.. but I have NOT seen any of them wearing kilts.
