What did Minoan men wear?Well.. - they went naked (sometimes while carrying fish), - they wore loincloths (with codpiece), - they wore kilts - they wore shorts (though there is a possibility that the shorts are just how it looks when a man is active while wearing a kilt) - They wore long tunicsWhat is the shape of the kilt? I DON'T KNOW but I stumbled across a paper that mentioned a fresco I had not noted and suggested that the fabric in the man's hands would be the fabric used to make the kilt. It's worth noting, that aside from the men dressed in long tunics.. and the men wearing hide skirts/cloaks I have not seen any instances of a Minoan wearing a upper body garment and a kilt.Mycenaeans ARE shown wearing short tunics.. but I have NOT seen any of them wearing kilts.** From "‘Put something on!’ Alternative ways of dressing and shapes of Minoan garments" from Arachne, Vol 5, 2018. www.academia.edu/38014601/_Put_something_on_Alternative_ways_of_dressing_and_shapes_of_Minoan_gar... ... Okay.. so I woke up with a GREAT IDEA (and then a VERY VERY bad name).Me: You know what would be cool? It would be cool to have a Aegean Bronze Age hangout at Pennsic. Hanging out with other people for whom this is their geek and encourage everyone to show off the VERY COOL THINGS THEY HAVE MADE and tips/tricks they've learned. Also me: OH OH OH! YES THAT WOULD BE COOL! WE COULD CALL IT AN "Aegean Bronze age Petting Zoo" Me: Um.. no.. we're absolutely NOT naming it that. How about Tea.. or salon.. or hangout.. Also me: Um.. okay yeah. Good call on the name. So .. there is a nice public shade which was added to our camp.. that would be a lovely hangout place.Me: I'll have to clear it with The Powers That Be.. but this could be a thing. ... Once more. Someone pointed out that I should have photographed these against the color I planned to use. Good call. So with the gold/saffron-y linen, which trim would you choose for a Minoan heanos? ... See MoreSee Less
