Ancient Sumerian.Looking over the fence into Mesopotamia you see a lot of carvings/images that show people (men and women) wearing a garment with what looks like dragon scales. What's on your worktable?I'm working on another Minoan-inspired peerage necklace. The necklace is definitely Minoan-esque but they did not really wear medallions so it's an SCA-ism.I put together a bead necklace like this a while ago. That one used clear quartz and carnelian barrels. BUT two things about it bugged me.1. the clear quartz round beads had really pretty flakes of orange in them BUT when paired with the carnelian the flakes just disappeared. (sad face) and 2. I ran short on the carnelian barrels and so finished it off with 3 smaller barrel beads.So since it bugged me I pulled it apart and changed the clear quartz beads to be part of the clear quarts and lapis lazuli necklace I shared last week (in theory the lapis will draw out the flakes better) and I bought more of the right-sized carnelian barrels.So now I'm faced with a different quandary. - Do I just put the medallion into the bead strand with an orange bead on one side and white bead on the other - OR do I put the carnelian beads on either side of the medallion - OR do I put the white beads on either side of the medallion?De#WorktableWednesday#WorktableWednesday ...
