Find spot: Akrotiri, island of Thera (Santorini), North wall
Date: 17th c. BCE
Clothing depicted: heanos, wrap skirt, assorted jewelry
Museum link: Museum of Prehistoric Thera, Santorini
Lady B is mature woman who appears to be helping another woman(girl?) to get dressed (holding wrap skirt in her right hand, left hand held out to almost touch the girl who wears a gold heanos with blue trim).
Her heanos has blue trim/bands along the shoulder, around the elbow and down the center front to the hem of the heanos. It has horizonal lines (horizontal pleats?) on the skirt and also appears to be translucent (notice you can see her left leg through the skirt of the heanos). There appears to be something(?) around her waist above the wrap skirt. Possibly something used to cinch in the heanos? Note that the hem of the heanos is parallel with the ground and does NOT follow the line of the wrap skir.
Her wrap skirt hem is NOT parallel with the ground. It has three tiers/flounces with fringe along the center front opening. It’s interesting to note that the “bumps” from the wrap skirt do not disrupt the trim(?)/band along the front edge of the wrap skirt.
She wears a blue bracelet on her left wrist and earrings and also appears to be wearing makeup (blush, lip color).
