I need to add sleeves to my smock (the one I tore the sleeves off of at Pennsic last year). While avoiding the task I instead culled through my UFO bin. In my UFO bin I found a pair of smock sleeves. I have NO idea when I made them. So I guess I'm done avoiding the project and now I'm going to add sleeves to my smock. This week is about digging through my SCA closet to re-assess what I actually have that I can wear. So far I've found one kirtle that's WAY too big, two kirtles which are only slightly too big and a cotte which is JUST-RIGHT.I also skimmed the blog entry about the cotte and this caught my eye and made me laugh:"I probably could have done more but The Witcher is so damned pretty (quite takes my breath away) I had to stop and admire it for a while which really slowed down my progress." In April 2022 I started a new waisted kirtle. I got it all of the way done.. except for adding the hem.. and then I threw it in a corner so it could think about what it did wrong. Now it's 2.5 years later.. I've completely changed size/shape.. and I'm finally acknowledging that I will NEVER finish this kirtle.So I hit publish on the blog entry.. and will find someone else who can wear this kirtle (C: 45, W: 40, L: 33+).
